Rory Stewart
Rory Stewart, OBE, is the Founder and Executive Chairman of the British charity Turquoise Mountain,
which has restored the historic commercial centre of Kabul bringing clinics, schools, clean drinking water,
and training to Afghan men and women. He is also a professor at Harvard University.
Rory began his career as an infantry officer and served in the British foreign office as a diplomat
in several countries, including as Deputy Governor of two provinces in Iraq.
In 2000 - 02 he walked alone across much of Asia including Afghanistan.
He has written two books. Rory's family come from Scotland and his father worked for Racal which was then based in Bracknell.
