Introducing
Frances Moody
Your Conservative
Candidate

Frances has lived in Old Bracknell (North Lake) for 17 years. She is a book keeper for a local food retailer and is looking to set up her own business locally.

Frances is already actively involved in the community through her charity work both nationally and locally having cycled 500km along the Nile for Mencap to helping set up the Berkshire Filipino Society and other local groups. She's also a supporter of Bracknell based Beheard which helps people with learning disabilities and Youthline that helps our local young people.

Says Frances "I am passionate about the Environment, we enjoy a lot of open space around here and I want to keep it that way. I was appalled when I heard Labour want to stack even higher density housing into Bracknell.

We have got to keep our parks and open spaces. The Town Council does a wonderful job of keeping them looking good and I'd like to get on to the Town Council's environment committee to keep the focus on Old Bracknell's important character.

I want to see more emphasis on respect and responsibility, my idea of a fair society is one where we can all reach for excellence and not as Labour do, reach for average."

Frances' hobbies include Egyptology, making silver jewellery (she has her own hallmark) and looking after Kevin, her cat.

Why I want to be your Councillor

Frances says "I'd like to share with you why I'd like to be your Councillor. it's not just about 'giving something back' as important as that is.

I actually believe that if you want to change something you have to get involved. I want to change how Old Bracknell is represented. The Labour Councillors here have failed to get Old Bracknell punching above its weight like other wards. Do you feel that too?

I can communicate well with people. That is a key part of being heard, I want to use my skills to put Old Bracknell higher up the pecking order and to speak out and speak up for those who can't. Old Bracknell, our town and borough face unprecedented problems because of government failings. It will be important that we have good strong councillors who can fight for our community.

It's time for us all to get involved, I believe this is how I can, with your help, make a difference.

Your Conservative led Councils have delivered!
Conservative High quality services The Town Council delivers high quality services for just £1.50 a week (Band D). Lots of residents in Bracknell Town benefit from the council's TV licence subsidy scheme. £5000 is given in grants to worthy schemes.
Conservative Healthspace support The Conservatives are the only party to support the campaign to get a Healthspace in Bracknell. Labour called it a stunt. We not only have a Healthspace but a Cancer care centre as well with no government cash.
Conservative Value for money Bracknell Town Council is Conservative controlled. That means we focus on delivering the best possible local services for the best possible value. With 33 recreation areas and children's play areas included.
Conservative Housing The housing waiting list has been reduced, there is no one in Bed and Breakfast. The Conservatives have introduced new schemes to help people into rented homes and into their own home.
Conservative Parks & open spaces Lots of open spaces, recreation parks and play areas are maintained by the Town Council and it supports South Hill Park an important learning and entertainment venue for young and old alike.
Conservative Good schools Bracknell has some of the best schools in the country because the Conservatives have made schools a top priority. Brakenhale is now a first choice school for many residents and standards continue to rise.
Conservative Low crime The Conservatives continue to press for more police on the beat. Actually Bracknell is a low crime area. Council investment in CCTV and close working with local police officers
Conservative Green Agenda Across Bracknell there has been improved recycling rates. A fantastic new civic amenity site resulting in reduced landfill that means lower payments in Labours stealth landfill tax.

Dear resident, we are not all the same!

Now is not the time to turn away from supporting local politicians. To just say "you're all the same" is simply not true. To mix what MP.s do with what Town Councillors do is wrong, because Town Councillors do it all for no pay and no expenses. If you respect voluntary workers then you have to go and vote for your local Councillor.
And there is a difference, for example.

Conservatives Fought for and won a Healthspace and got a cancer centre as well.
Labour Rejected attempts for a Healthspace but now claim the government funded it, not true!
Lib Dems Were against at the start, now they.re not so sure!

Its why I decided to "get involved". If like me, you think now is the right time to get a bit more involved in serving our community then please give my campaign team a call on 01344 868286, or email to bracknellca@tory.org. Combating the terrible effects of the Labour Government takes a lot of effort so any help you can give will be very welcome. I'm not asking you to 'join the party' or 'donate cash' but if you would deliver leaflets, display a poster, or join me on a walkabout for an hour then you will be helping to rid this country and Old Bracknell of a socialist presence that has failed us all.

Sincerely yours
Frances
